Guillow's Me-109 update

I have finally finished the Guillow's Me-109 balsa model. I was not too sure about painting a paper-bodied model, knowing that I would spend endless hours perfecting the surface on plastic models prior to paint application. I just was not confident what kind of surface quality a patched paper surface would bring.

Against my concern, once I applied clear coat on the finished surface, the paper turned semi-gloss and more transparent which looked quite nice. I should have stopped right there and kept it that way, but I painted the plane with water based color and it now looks quite... er... not as good.

But lessons learned, with the next balsa model, I would keep the model unpainted.
